Birchwood

Birchwood sits south of Portage Ave on the north shore of the Assiniboine River, bounded by Sturgeon Creek to the west, and Assiniboine Park to the east. The Charleswood Bridge at Moray St heads south into the Assiniboine South community area.

There are three city parks, including the north side of the Charleswood Bridge:

• Charleswood Bridge North straddles Moray St at the north end of the bridge, featuring a walkway with several information panels.
• Birchwood Park is a playground found on the south side of Portage Ave, just east of Olive St.
• The Portage Ave entrance of Assiniboine Park is found at the north end of Overdale St, offering a footbridge to main area of the park.
