Air Force Heritage Museum and Air Park
The Air Force Heritage Museum and Air Park is found along Air Force Way, north of Silver Ave and the Yellow Ribbon Greenway.
Situated next to the 17 Wing Canadian Forces Base, the park features monuments to a bundle of military aircraft from World War II through to the present.
Welcome to the Air Force Heritage Park! Visitors are greeted at the Silver Ave / Air Force Way entrance by the CT-134A Musketeer II, used to train pilots during the 1980s. Facing northeast.
The AN-FPS-508 search radar antenna stands at the south end of the parking lot off Air Force Way. Facing southeast.
The CP-121 Tracker, used as an anti-submarine warplane from 1956 to 1989, stands along the west side of Air Force Way, just north of the Yellow Ribbon Greenway. Facing west.
The CH-136 Kiowa, a tactical transport helicopter, stands along the west side of Air Force Way, opposite the parking lot. Facing southwest.
A prototype CX-144 Challenger, primarily used to transport VIPs, stands at the edge of the parking lot on the east side of Air Force Way. Facing north.
A pair of Canadian Air Forces jets -- the CT-133 Silver Star, and F-86 Sabre Mk VI -- stand across from the entrance to the base. A third jet in the back was undergoing maintenance at the time this photo was taken. Facing northeast.
The CF-104 Starfighter, a Cold War Era military jet, stands on the west side of the entrance to the base, facing northwest.
The CF-101B Voodoo, an interceptor used by NORAD, stands on the east side of the entrance to the base, facing northwest.
A monument to the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan stands on the east side of the air park. The Harvard Mk 4 stands in the back, a later version of the advanced trainer used during World War II. Facing east.
