The Taché Promenade is a long pathway hugging the east shore of the Red River, running all the way from the Provencher Bridge to the Norwood Bridge. A handful of monuments and information panels can be found along the path, with plenty of scenic spots offering a view of the Red River and the downtown skyline.

Bois-des-esprits - New Park Page

Bois-des-esprits, or "Woods where the Spirits Dwell", features several long winding trails through a forested area alongside the Seine River. Several wood carvings can be found throughout the trail system, inspired by the original carving of Woody-Mhitik, which is now featured in the St. Boniface museum.

Visitors can enter the park area from the north off John Bruce Rd E, from the east off River Valley Dr or Eastoak Dr, or from the south off Shorehill Dr. Cyclists looking to visit the area from Abinojii Mikanah can come from the north through Orchard Hill Park onto John Bruce Rd E.

Southdale Community Centre - New Park Page

The Southdale Community Centre is found on the west side of Lakewood Blvd, a few blocks north of Abinojii Mikanah. Sharing space with J.H. Bruns Collegiate, the community centre offers an indoor arena and fitness facilities, a playground and wading pool, and several outdoor athletic fields.

Winakwa Community Centre - New Park Page

The Winakwa Community Centre is found along the south side of Winakwa Rd, just west of Speers Rd. Sharing grounds with Windsor Park Collegiate, the park area features two hockey rinks, two baseball diamonds, an outdoor pool, a community garden, and a playground. A set of tennis courts are available on the east side of the school, near the corner of Cottonwood Rd and Speers Rd.

Henteleff Park is found on the west side of St. Mary's Rd, about a block north of Normand Ave. An outdoor interpretive centre greets visitors entering the parking lot off St. Mary's Rd, discussing the history of the Henteleff family. A long trail heads west, winding through a forested area alongside the Red River.

Cyclists can make their way along the South St. Vital Trail, crossing St. Mary's Rd and heading north about two blocks along the sidewalk.

Dakota Park is attached to the community centre of the same name, located along the west side of Dakota St, next to Collège Jeanne-Sauvé and the Louis Riel Library. There are several pathways cutting through forested areas to the west of the community centre grounds, with access points along Novavista Dr from the north, Tufnell Dr from the south, and Pear Tree Bay from the west.

A basketball court, outdoor hockey rink, wading pool, and the Norwood Lawn Bowling Club surround the main community centre building. Home of the Dakota Lazers, the community centre offers an event hall, a comprehensive indoor recreational space in the Dakota Fieldhouse, and the Jonathan Toews Sportsplex.

On July 17, 2025, the Winnipeg city council voted to rename this park Dawn McEwen Park, in honour of the 2014 Winter Olympics curling team. Signage is expected to be installed later in 2025.

Charleswood Memorial Park - The Burn - New Park Page

Charleswood Memorial Park sits along the south side of Roblin Blvd at Berkley St. Part of the Beaverdam Creek Greenway, this greenspace was given the name "The Burn" as a tribute to Johanna Burns, a city planner who helped to preserve the area surrounding the creek as a park-like retreat. Nestled up next to a forested area, a World War I and II cenotaph stands near the east end of the park.

Caron Park, the site of the historic Caron House, is located just inside the west perimeter, north of Roblin Blvd at the intersection of Cass St and Musgrove St. Providing plenty of open space and dirt paths through the trees, the park hugs the south shore of the Assiniboine River. It features a historic farmhouse and several plaques describing the history of the area, a playground, and a winter skating area.

The east side of the Perimeter Hwy bridge includes a sidewalk, providing access for visitors crossing the Assiniboine River from St. Charles Forest or St. Charles Grove.

Westview Park is found between Saskatchewan Ave and Wellington Ave, just east of Empress St. Often referred to as Garbage Hill, due to the Hollywood-style sign erected alongside the eastern roadway, the park offers a 360-degree view of the city's skyline. At the top of the hill, there's an off-leash dog area, and a compass-shaped monument. A toboggan hill is found near the north end of the park, just off Midland St.

Assiniboine Park sits along the south shore of the Assiniboine River, north of Roblin Blvd / Corydon Ave. Run by the Assiniboine Park Conservancy, there are many attractions in this expansive park, including the zoo, a train ride, gardens and sculptures, the Lyric Theatre, and athletic fields. A variety of events take place throughout the year, ranging from concerts and comedy acts to group tours and workshops.

Cyclists will find a pathway leading around the entire perimeter of the park, with bike-friendly entrances off Vialoux Dr from the west, the footbridge from the north, Wellington Cres from the east, and Shaftesbury Blvd from the south.

Omand Park - New Park Page

Omand Park sits on the north shore of the Assiniboine River, located just southeast of Polo Park. There's an open area surrounding two baseball diamonds, a view of the river, and pathways leading all four compass directions out of the park.

Smithdale Park - New Park Page

Smithdale park sits on the south shore of the Assiniboine River off Vialoux Dr, roughly haflway between the Charleswood Bridge and Assiniboine Park. There's a playground, an open area on the east side of a hill, and a path through the trees providing a view of the river.

Woodhaven Park - New Park Page

Providing plenty of open space, Woodhaven Park runs along both sides of Sturgeon Creek, starting at the Woodhaven Blvd bridge through to Assiniboine Ave. The attached community club offers two hockey rinks, a soccer field, a basketball court, and a playground.

Sturgeon Creek Parkway - Woodhaven - New Park Page

The southern-most section of the Sturgeon Creek Parkway is located on the south side of Portage Ave, across from Grant's Old Mill and the Courts of St James. There's a large open area, planted flowers, and the T-33 jet monument named the Red Knight.

Bruce Park - New Park Page

Bruce Park is located on the south side of Portage Ave, at Albany St. The park spans both sides of Truro Creek. There are several open areas and pathways through the trees, a small playground, a war monument, and a narrow view of the Assiniboine River.

Bourkevale Park - New Park Page

Bourkevale Park is attached to the community centre of the same name, located on the south side of Portage Ave, at Ferry Rd. There's an open area, a good view of the Assiniboine River, and a pathway cutting east-west through the park. A playground, lawn bowling club, two hockey rinks, and several soccer fields surround the community centre.

St. Charles Grove - New Park Page

St. Charles Grove is located just inside the western perimeter, south of Portage Ave at the end of St. Charles St, on the north shore of the Assiniboine River. There's a large open area, a good view of the river, and access to a community garden via a dirt pathway to the southwest.
